2 minors in Odisha perish after their mother ‘throws’ them into a well
The mother of two children reportedly pushed them down a well before trying suicide in a hamlet in the Ganjam region of Odisha, resulting in two deaths and one injury, according to authorities.
Locals saved Rashmita Gouda, 30, and her older daughter Gunjan (9) from the well, but Alisha, 10 months, and Asish, 5, died, a police official said on Monday. The event happened late on Sunday in the district’s Lauguda hamlet.
The officer said that Gouda’s husband, a worker who works in Chennai, was not there when the crime occurred. At a community health facility, Gunjan and her mother are receiving medical care.
According to a preliminary investigation, a family disagreement may have caused the incident, according to SP (Ganjam) Jagmohan Meena. He stated that further investigation is being conducted.
