95-year-old experienced senior SC attorney and eminent jurist Fali S. Nariman dies away

According to his staff, eminent jurist and seasoned senior lawyer of the Supreme Court Fali S. Nariman passed away in New Delhi on Wednesday. He was ninety-five years old.

He had a number of illnesses, including heart problems.

He was born on January 10, 1929, and started working as a Bombay High Court counsel in November 1950. In 1961, he was named a senior advocate. He practiced law for more than 70 years, first in the Bombay High Court and later, starting in 1972, in the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi. He moved to Delhi in May 1972 after being appointed Additional Solicitor General of India, having previously served in Bombay. He left the position during the Emergency.

January 1991 saw Nariman earn the Padma Bhushan, and the Padma Vibhushan was given to him in 2007. Rohinton Nariman, his son, served as a Supreme Court judge.
