AAP leader Atishi refers to Kejriwal’s ED summons as a “fake” matter related to the Delhi Jal Board

Senior AAP leader and minister for Delhi, Atishi claimed on Sunday that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a new summons from the Enforcement Directorate to participate in their investigation into a purportedly “fake” case involving the Delhi Jal Board.

“Nobody is aware of the details of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) case. At a news conference held here, she said, “This appears to be a backup plan to arrest Kejriwal anyhow and stop him from campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls.”

Atishi said that shortly after the Lok Sabha election date was announced on Saturday, two summonses requesting Kejriwal to appear before the federal agency the following week were received. She continued, saying that one of them has to do with the excise policy matter and the other with the DJB.

The AAP leader accused the BJP of using the CBI and ED as its “goons” to eliminate political rivals.

The ED and the CBI did not respond to this right away.

Kejriwal has also been given a summons to appear for interrogation in the money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy. He has so far ignored eight summonses in this matter, claiming they were unlawful.
