AAP MP Sanjay Singh: Kejriwal is “being tortured in jail” and isn’t permitted to see his wife

On Saturday, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is unable to see his wife Sunita Kejriwal and is “being tortured at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi” while incarcerated in Tihar prison.

“Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is being tortured in prison at PM Modi’s and the Indian government’s request. We’re doing something to lower his spirits. The prison administration has been given permission to allow inmates to interact with visitors in person in accordance with the regulations and as specified in the jail handbook. Singh said that Arvind Kejriwal’s wife is not permitted to have in-person meetings with him.

The leader of the AAP asked Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to preserve Kejriwal’s rights as provided by the Constitution.

“The battle of today is to preserve the Constitution and democracy. I would ask Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to respect Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s rights, which are protected by the constitution, democracy, law, and jail regulations. He went on, “Don’t attempt to be a tyrant.

Kejriwal is now being held in Tihar prison after being taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21. The Delhi Chief Minister was detained in court till April 15 in relation to a money laundering case involving purported anomalies in the creation and execution of the since-canceled Delhi excise policy.

Atishi, a minister in Delhi and leader of the AAP, expressed worries earlier this month about Kejriwal’s health. She said that since his detention, Kejriwal, a diabetic, had shed many 4.5 kg of weight.

The AAP called Kejriwal’s detention before of the Lok Sabha elections a “biggest political conspiracy,” adding that the BJP was afraid Delhi would lock him up to prevent him from running for office.
