Access to Mount Kailash from India Will Begin in September

From September of this year, worshippers from Indian territory will be permitted to go to Mount Kailash, which is said to be the home of Lord Shiva.

According to officials, cutting of the road from KMVN Huts in Nabhidhang in Pithoragarh district to Lipulekh pass on the India-China border has begun and would be finished by the end of September.

BRO’s Diamond Project Chief Engineer Vimal Goswami said, “We have started the work of cutting the road from KMVN Huts to Lipulekh Pass in Nabhidhang, about six and half kilometers long.”

‘Kailash View Point’ will be ready along the road once it has been finished. The Indian government has entrusted Hirak Project with the task of creating “Kailash View Point.”

According to Goswami, a lot of road cutting work has been done and, with good weather, would be finished by September. Due of the Covid epidemic, the Kailash-Mansarovar yatra across the Lipulekh Pass was postponed; it has not yet begun again. Such a protracted holdup has helped the Indian government’s attempts to provide a different route for pilgrims to use in order to reach Mount Kailash.
