On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his two-day visit to Assam, where he would dedicate and lay the groundwork for projects valued at over Rs 18,000 crore. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received him at the airport in Tezpur.

CM Sarma tweeted about #ModiParivarAssam’s excitement to welcome the Prime Minister to the ancient land of Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev. Modi took a chopper from Tezpur to Panbari in Kaziranga.

All About PM Modi’s Two-Day Visit to Assam: From the helicopter to the Police Guest House at the Central Kohora Range in Kaziranga National Park, the last portion of his trip—roughly 15 km—will be traveled by road.

On Saturday morning, PM Modi is expected to leave the guest house early and go on a forest safari. Both the elephant and jeep safaris have been confirmed by officials, and the prime minister is scheduled to attend for around two hours. A sizable group of people came to greet him when he entered Kaziranga National Park, a world heritage site.

Following the safari, Modi will go to Arunachal Pradesh to take part in two planned events. In the afternoon, he will return to Jorhat to dedicate the 125-foot-tall “Statue of Valour” to the renowned Ahom commander Lachit Barphukan.

After that, the prime minister would go to Meleng Meteli Pothar to officially launch and lay the groundwork for state and federal projects worth around Rs 18,000 crore. He is expected to speak at a public gathering there before leaving for West Bengal. It is noteworthy that on February 4, the Prime Minister launched infrastructure projects worth Rs 11,600 crore during an earlier visit to Assam.
