Ambala gurdwara manager is suspended by HSGMC

Bhupinder Singh Assandh, president of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), has suspended the gurdwara manager in response to his alleged violation of the Sikh code of conduct at Sri Panjokhara Sahib Gurdwara, Ambala. Reports of alcohol and tobacco consumption have surfaced in the shrine’s rooms.

In light of the farmers’ unrest, Akal Takht instructed the HSGMC yesterday to remove police and paramilitary personnel from Gurdwara inns.

Assandh voiced dissatisfaction about discovering offensive items in rooms assigned to security officers, such as empty wine bottles and tobacco pouches. The sacredness of the “Guru ghar” should have been observed by the security officers. The management and other staff assigned to that location have a responsibility to inform security staff of the gurdwara’s sacredness. The manager has been placed on suspension due to his irresponsibility. He stated, “The two personnel who were on duty at the location have been moved.

He claimed, “A committee has been formed to look into the matter and submit a report within five days,” and that the security guards had already been expelled.

The HSGMC is farmer-friendly, and they will get every assistance that is feasible. Additionally, plans will be made for them at the gurdwara, Assandh said.
