Amit Shah, the Home Minister, Declares That The CAA Will Be Implemented Before May 2024

The Narendra Modi government’s commitment to enacting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) before to the Lok Sabha elections was made evident today by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “CAA is a national act; it will undoubtedly be informed. It will get notice before to the polls. At an event in New Delhi, Shah said, “There should be no confusion surrounding CAA; it will be implemented by the polls.”

Wherever there have been CAA demonstrations, the Delhi Police have already increased their level of surveillance. Home Minister Shah addressed the matter and said that the Congress administration had first promised CAA. “Congress had promised the refugees that they would be welcomed in India and would be granted Indian citizenship when the nation was partitioned and minorities were oppressed in other countries. They are now going back,” Shah said.

According to him, the purpose of CAA was to grant citizenship, not to revoke anyone’s existing citizenship. Minorities in our nation are being incited, particularly the Muslim minority. Since the Act makes no mention of citizenship, CAA cannot take away someone’s citizenship. Shah said, “The purpose of the CAA is to provide citizenship to refugees who were subjected to persecution in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The Narendra Modi government’s Citizenship Act (CAA) seeks to offer Indian citizenship to non-Muslim migrants who have been persecuted and who came to India before December 31, 2014, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians.

Significant demonstrations broke out around the nation when the CAA was approved by Parliament in December 2019 and was subsequently ratified by the president.
