Anand Sharma broke away from local politics: Ex-CM of Himachal Shanta Kumar

Shanta Kumar, a former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh and BJP leader, said on Monday that the Congress was compelled to field Anand Sharma, a candidate “disconnected from grassroot politics,” since no local politician was ready to run for the Kangra Lok Sabha constituency.

The senior BJP leader voiced doubt about the Congress candidate’s capacity to win over voters, pointing out that Sharma is mostly recognized for his time in the Rajya Sabha and has no significant local involvement.
