At the Delhi-Gurugram border, traffic slows considerably before returning to normal

Due to Delhi Police barricading, commuters saw a severe traffic snarl on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway near the Delhi-Gurugram border this morning.

The Delhi Police increased surveillance at the border in response to the farmers’ protest in Manesar on Tuesday and their planned march into the capital. Officers on duty at the Delhi-Gurugram border inspected drivers’ identification documents. In addition to the inspection, there was traffic congestion since service lanes were blocked.

Commuters were also alerted of traffic congestion at the Delhi-Gurugram border by the traffic police in Gurugram. “Traffic congestion has been reported at Delhi-Gurugram border on NH 48 due to barricading by Delhi Police,” the police said in a post on the social networking site “X.” @TrafficGGM is here to help with the traffic right now. We really regret the inconvenience this has caused. It is suggested that commuters allow additional time to get to the airport.

After some time, the Delhi Police and the Gurugram Police worked together to dismantle the barriers. After that, traffic resumed its regular speed.
