Attack demonstrates J&K’s ongoing terrorism: Farooq

Farooq Abdullah, the leader of the NC, denounced the terrorist assault on an IAF convoy in Poonch on Sunday and said that there was still a threat of terrorism in the Union Territory.

The former chief minister of J&K reiterated his position that only talks between India and Pakistan could put an end to the menace in the area, saying that the BJP-led Center’s assertion that terrorism was caused by Article 370 was now debunked.

According to the NC leader, the area has been plagued by terror assaults similar to the one that happened to the IAF convoy for many months. “There have been incidents in Rajouri, Surankote, and other nearby areas,” he stated, paying respect to the deceased and offering prayers for the wounded to heal quickly. In reference to terrorism, he noted that while the administration blamed it on Article 370, terrorism persisted long after it was repealed. He said, “It is crucial to take into account the goals of the people living in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.”
