Australia: Indian Man Dies in Melbourne Car Crash; Wife Seeks Help to Send Remains Back Home

According to a media source, an Indian man in Australia passed away last week after a vehicle accident in southwest Melbourne, and his wife has requested assistance in returning his remains to his parents in India. At around 11:15 p.m. on Monday, Khusdeep Singh, 26, was traveling down Palmers Road when his car over the middle strip and repeatedly rolled.

The Westgate Highway Patrol is looking into Friday night’s deadly collision near Williams Landing. In a statement issued on December 4, Victoria Police said that they “believe a male driver, age 26, was traveling along Palmers Road when he crossed the median strip and rolled the vehicle several times around 11:15 p.m.”

Emergency personnel arrived quickly and tried to resuscitate Singh, but sadly, he passed away from his wounds there. Although the reason for the collision is still being investigated, police believe that weariness may have played a role. In order to return her husband’s remains to his parents in India, Singh’s widow, Japneet Kour, an international student who moved to Australia last year, has started a fundraising effort.

She said that her spouse was well-known for having a cheerful view of life and was employed as a truck driver in Melbourne. Kour has asked people to spread the campaign widely and is asking for contributions of all sizes to help the cause.

She begged for forgiveness and acknowledged her appreciation for the sympathies and assistance she had received during this terrible period. The specifics of the collision are still being looked into. She has received contributions totaling around $48,000 so far.

Five people from two Indian families in Australia, including two children, died last year after a luxury SUV crashed into a crowded Melbourne pub’s outdoor eating area.
