Authorities At Tihar Jail Explain Why Sunita, Arvind Kejriwal’s Wife, Was Not Allowed to See the Chief Minister of Delhi

According to sources in Tihar prison who spoke to the Times Now, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita, was not permitted to see the AAP leader since doing so would have violated the jail rules. A prisoner is only permitted two visits in a week, per the guidelines.

“Sunita’s request has been denied as Atishi and Bhagwant Maan had previously filed via the visitors portal. After these two conversations, Tihar will reevaluate her request,” the source said.

According to the Aam Aadmi Party, Sunita was refused permission by the Tihar prison officials because of pressure from the Center.

The party added, “The Tihar jail administration cancelled Sunita Kejriwal’s meeting with her husband Arvind Kejriwal at the behest of the Modi government,” in a post on X in Hindi. The Modi administration is going above and beyond what is humane.

“A chief minister who was elected is being handled like a terrorist. The nation should be informed by the Modi administration as to why Sunita Kejriwal ji is not being permitted to visit her husband, Arvind Kejriwal ji.

Kejriwal is expected to see Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi on Monday.

On March 21, Kejriwal was taken into custody in relation to a money laundering case involving an excise policy. He is detained by the courts until May 7.

“Mother India’s Daughter,” Sunita Kejriwal’s Campaign In Delhi

Earlier in the day, Mahabal Mishra, the Lok Sabha candidate for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was the focus of a roadshow that Sunita Kejriwal organized in West Delhi. As a “daughter of Mother India,” she made a plea to the people, asking them to vote against “dictatorship” and preserve democracy.

She said, “Your chief minister is a sher,” during the tour. He cannot be broken or forced to bow. He is Mother India’s son. I beg of you, as a daughter of Mother India, to vote to preserve democracy and reject tyranny. Please be aware of the significance of your vote.”

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained the Delhi Chief Minister on March 21 of this year in relation to a money laundering investigation that was connected to the Delhi liquor excise policy issue. Right now, he is being held in Tihar Jail.
