At a 30 by 40-square-foot scrapyard on Chikkabasti Main Road in Ramasandra, close to Kumbalgodu, eight workers were allegedly injecting chemicals into perfume bottles when the accident happened at approximately five o’clock in the evening. ~

Authorities believe that staff started the fire by putting old shampoo into fresh bottles.

The place was completely destroyed by fire after an explosion. Three of them were trapped inside and perished from burns, while five of them were able to escape the area with serious burns.

In order to put out the fire, two fire tenders were called into action. There were many explosions since the majority of the materials employed were chemical-based and very combustible. The fire also completely destroyed three parked cars: an autorickshaw, a two-wheeler, and a sedan. Additionally, the authorities noted that the event also caused some damage to the structures next to the yard.

The authorities believe that the employees were also engaged in the establishment’s practice of reusing old shampoo in brand-new bottles. A police official said, “It is suspected that a spark while infusing chemicals into bottles might have led to the tragedy, while fire and forensic experts are probing to know the exact cause of the fire.” Karthik Reddy, the Ramanagara SP, who hurried to the scene, said that it seemed from the outset that the workers were producing fragrances. Saleem leased the apartment only one month before. Experts in forensic science will determine the cause of the fire,” he said.

Saleem is the tenant of Vittal, the property’s owner. For the purpose of autopsy, the corpses were moved to Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital. The Kumbalgodu police station has a case file.
