Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, receives a notification from Sukhbir Badal threatening to defame him if he doesn’t apologize within seven days

Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal said on Friday that he had served Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann with a legal notice demanding that he issue a written apology within seven days for making “scandalous and concocted imputations” about him regarding his private business. If the AAP leader does not comply, a criminal defamation case may be brought against him.

“I have mailed a legal notice to @BhagwantMann requesting that he issue a written apology (within 7 days) for fabricating and making scandalous accusations against me regarding my personal affairs. If he does not comply, he may be subject to a criminal defamation lawsuit,” Badal said on X.

“Mann was already avoiding an appearance in Sri Muktsar Sahib court, where I had filed a case (on January 11) against my wilful defamation at an event held in Ludhiana, as well as that of my family and my party, Shiromani Akali Dal,” Badal said. I used to put up with his lies and falsehoods, but now I won’t let him get away with it. Either he apologizes or be ready to go to jail.

“You all have witnessed how the chief minister behaved in the Vidhan Sabha recently,” Badal had said earlier, launching a direct assault on the ministry. Once, under the name of “badlav” (change), he deceived everyone. Make sure that doesn’t occur again.

“Punjab is suffering but Bhagwant Mann is busy hosting Kejriwal in Punjab by using crores of public funds,” Badal said, alleging that the chief minister and Kejriwal were busy engaging in “cheap publicity stunts.”
