BJP Leaders Comment on Lalu Yadav’s “PM Has No Family” Remark on X with “Modi Ka Parivar”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a new campaign called “Modi Ka Parivar” in response to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s personal jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, claiming the PM had no family or children.

“This whole nation is my family. Everybody in the nation claims to be related to Modi. The Prime Minister said in Telangana on Monday that he has dedicated his whole life to helping the underprivileged and needy, adding, “Even those who have no one, Modi is there with them, and Modi is theirs.”

Senior BJP leaders and ministers quickly responded to Modi’s abrupt political 180 degrees by adding “Modi Ka Parivar” to their social media handles. Amit Shah, the union’s home minister, JP Nadda, the head of the BJP, and several more are among them.

It seems that the BJP has a serious problem that the RJD has given it before the Lok Sabha elections. This reminds me of Rahul Gandhi’s remarks before the 2019 general elections when he mocked Modi by claiming that there was a scandal involving the acquisition of the Rafale fighter fighters. With Modi coining the term “Main Bhi Chowkidar” and all party leaders using it to criticize the Congress, the BJP had deftly turned the tables again at that point.

BJP officials clarify that insults aimed at PM Modi personally have never succeeded and have actually backfired on opponents in politics. “The Congress has already learned this the hard way—whether it was from Sonia Gandhi’s “Maut Ka Saudagar” statement or Mani Shankar Aiyar’s “Chaiwala” remark from 2014. Now it’s the INDI alliance’s time,” a top BJP official said.

According to BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi, Modi has always referred to his fellow citizens as “mere parivarajan” (my family members), and the prime minister has observed all national holidays with troops stationed at the border. According to Trivedi, Modi’s life has been dedicated to the country, which is why he hasn’t taken a single day off in the last ten years as prime minister.

Another BJP representative pointed out that because the RJD was the party of “family dynasties,” it was ironic that they had attacked the PM personally. According to a BJP source, “Lalu Prasad was the chief minister, then he made his wife Rabri Devi the chief minister, and then his son Tejashwi Yadav was made deputy chief minister twice and he has ambitions to be CM.”

He went on to say that the BJP has been actively opposing dynasty-led parties like the RJD, Samajwadi Party, and Congress since 2014. The party contends that these family-run organizations promote corruption and a lack of internal party democracy.
