Body of a woman discovered; possible drug overdose

Last night, in Mahavir Colony, a woman’s corpse was discovered in a vacant plot under strange circumstances. Although a drug overdose was reported to be the cause of death, the post-mortem examination report had to be received before the true cause of death could be determined.

Pooja was recognized as the deceased. She had a husband. In relation to a case of assault, the lady was freed on bond from the Sangrur prison on Saturday.

Pooja left her home after saying she was going to purchase some medication, but she never came back.

The deceased, according to the information provided, lived in Seedha village. She began living with her mother at her house in Seedha village after being released from prison on bail. She grabbed her mother’s 400 rupees on Sunday and went to get some medication. Her corpse turned up later that night in an abandoned plot.

According to sources, the corpse was discovered on Sunday, and when some individuals alerted the authorities, officers from the Meharban police station arrived on the site. The corpse had no signs of injuries. The lady was a drug addict, according to what the deceased’s relatives informed the authorities. Thus far, the corpse has been turned over to the family after an autopsy and the police have started inquiry procedures under Section 174 of the CrPC.
