Boys from Jalandhar win the senior hockey championship

After beating Nawanshahr by a score of one goal (1-0), the Jalandhar squad became victorious in the Punjab State Hockey Championship 2024 senior boys’ division.

The Punjab Hockey League’s Hockey Baba Bohar, Advocate S.S. Saini (Ropar), hosted the event at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in the community. The Amritsar squad defeated Sangrur 2-1 to take third place. Merit certificates, medals, and trophies were given to the winning teams.

It was an intense championship final for the senior boys’ division. The game’s first half ended with no goals scored. The only goal of the game was scored by Rohan Bhushan of Jalandhar in the 57th minute, giving his side both the victory and the overall trophy.

Sangrur was beaten 2-1 by Amritsar in the third-place match. The Amritsar team scored goals via Navjot Singh in the sixteenth and twenty-five minutes, while Bhushan Sharma scored the lone goal for Sangrur in the fifteenth.
