Bulldozer Action Against Accused Following MP Urination Incident; CMO Issues “Think Ten Times Before Committing Crime” Warning

The state government razed a portion of a property held by Pravesh Shukla on Thursday for suspected unlawful encroachment after the man was detained by Madhya Pradesh police on Wednesday for allegedly peeing on a tribal kid. The strictest National Security Act (NSA) was used against Pravesh after his detention yesterday night at a late hour.

On Tuesday, a video of the event went viral on social media, prompting the police to file a case against the accused. Videos from Wednesday showed a JCB machine destroying a Pravesh-owned property in front of a large group of government representatives and law enforcement officers.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, responded through Twitter, writing: “NSA has been called, bulldozer has been deployed, and if required, Mama ji would bury offenders 10 feet below the earth. The message from Mama Ji is quite clear, therefore anybody with bad intentions should think twice before committing a crime in Madhya Pradesh.

As the opposition Congress sought a CBI investigation into the event and the destruction of the accused’s property, the MP Bharatiya Janata Party established a four-member team to investigate the issue, according to state party leader V D Sharma.

Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), criticized the incident as disgraceful and requested that the accused’s property be demolished.

State Home Minister Narottam Mishra, who is also the state government’s spokesperson, responded to a question regarding a similar demand by the Congress for “bulldozer action” against the accused, telling PTI that “bulldozer action is not taken on the basis of Congress’s demand…bulldozer runs only when there is an encroachment.”

The accused was allegedly connected to the BJP, according to the Congress, but the governing party refuted the accusation.
