Central govt requests a report on the mother of Sidhu Moosewala

The Punjab Government has been requested by the Union Ministry of Health to investigate media allegations that claim late Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, who passed away last Sunday at the age of 58, gave birth to a child via in vitro fertilization (IVF).

A woman must be between the ages of 21 and 50 in India in order to use assisted reproductive technology (ART), which includes IVF.

“This department read in the news that Moosewala’s mother, who is 58 years old, chose to do an IVF procedure in order to have a child. The Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Act’s Section 21(g)(1) specifies an age range of 21 to 50 years old. The Principal Secretary, Health, Punjab, received a letter on March 14 from SK Ranjan, Director of the Department of Health Research, requesting that he investigate the situation and provide a report on the steps taken in this instance in accordance with the ART Regulation Act.

According to preliminary information obtained, official sources informed The Tribune that Charan Kaur could have had IVF treatments and embryo implants overseas, as well as post-implant care in India.
