Chandigarh: Manish Tewari criticizes opponent for claiming to be able to transform Dadu Majra waste into a football field in three months

Manish Tewari, the nominee of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) for the Chandigarh parliamentary seat, poked fun at Sanjay Tandon, the nominee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, today over Tandon’s promise to convert the Dadu Majra dump into a football field in the next three months.

“Were you a regular cricket player?” Tandon inquired about Tewari. He made the point that the BJP had been in power for the previous ten years, with the help of the mayor and an MP, and that the party’s candidate was requesting an additional three months.

Tandon claims he can complete a task in three months that his party could not do in ten years. He’s playing people, since it was obvious that neither he (Tandon) nor his party were going to win in Chandigarh or the Center,” he said.

The Congress leader said that the formation of the Indian government at the Center was obvious. He went on, “The City Beautiful would save its reputation and live up to its name.” Tewari said that the Congress has a track record of delivering progress without making any false claims.

Maloya Colony hosted Padyatra.

In Maloya Colony, INDIA candidate Manish Tewari led a “padyatra” escorted by local councillor Dilawar, the head of the Chandigarh Congress, and Harmohinder Singh Lucky.

During the yatra, he spoke with people in the neighborhood. He promised them that as soon as the new INDIA bloc administration was established at the Center, all of their issues would be promptly remedied.

Meanwhile, Yogesh Dhingra, an AAP councillor, hosted another public meeting in Sector 38 here. Tewari convened a meeting of the Scheduled Caste wing office-bearers of the municipal Congress as well. He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the principles of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as they are contained in the nation’s Constitution.
