Cong complains to the police after claiming that a fake letter that claimed Digvijaya Singh’s resignation went viral

In a police report submitted on Sunday, the Madhya Pradesh Congress claimed that a false letter had been circulated on social media to give the impression that its senior leader Digvijaya Singh had quit after the announcement of the party’s first list of candidates for the 2018 assembly elections.

Jaivardhan Singh, a serving lawmaker and the son of Singh, was included on the opposition party’s first list of 144 candidates for the 230-member assembly elections slated for November 17.

The BJP has a talent for telling falsehoods. I joined Congress in 1971 not because I wanted a particular position but because I was swayed by the party’s principles. Until the end of my days, I shall remain with the Congress. Singh posted on X, “I am getting a complaint filed with the police.”

The former chief minister included a phony resignation letter with his post on X, in which he claimed that the candidates Singh had suggested for party tickets had not been taken into consideration. The “fake” letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge states, “My self-respect has been hurt as the dedicated workers have been cold-shouldered.” The letter continues, “I am announcing the decision to sever my connection with the party with a heavy heart.” I leave my position as a main member and all other positions. Accept my resignation, please.

Later, Singh posted a copy of the letter of complaint his party had sent to the Bhopal police’s cyber unit on X.Please register a FIR against these liars, @DGP_MP Sir, he wrote. The Congress has proposed 69 current lawmakers as its initial candidates, including Kamal Nath, the head of the state unit. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the MP Chief Minister and a top Bharatiya Janata Party politician, will be challenged by actor Vikram Mastal, who portrayed Lord Hanuman in a television series.
