Congress rallies the INDIA bloc’s “maha rally” support

President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), Arvinder Singh Lovely, addressed party members on Tuesday and urged them to attend the next public meeting that the India bloc is planning to hold at Ramlila Maidan on March 31. The purpose of the gathering is to express opposition to what Lovely terms the “authoritarian manner” in which the BJP administration at the Centre is purportedly stifling the voices of the opposition.

“Suppressing Oppn”

The communal party purposefully suppressed democracy and the voice of the people during the LS elections by tormenting opposition parties. President of the DPCC, Arvinder Singh Lovely

The demonstration, sponsored by the India bloc to safeguard the Constitution at Ramlila Maidan, would prove to be a milestone, Lovely underlined while speaking to observers and presidents of district and block Congress committees at the DPCC headquarters at Rajiv Bhawan.

He urged Congressmen to go in large numbers, saying that doing so would show support for their fellow members of the India bloc.

Speaking in light of recent events, like the BJP government’s purported harassment of opposition leaders and the suspension of the Congress party’s account, Lovely challenged the timing of such measures. He said it was a calculated move to impede democracy when he accused the BJP of trying to silence opposition views before the Lok Sabha elections.

In order to send a strong statement against what he sees as anti-democratic policies, he asked Congress employees to actively join in the march.
