Constituency Watch: Rao Inderjit Singh is thriving because to development developments in Gurugram

Given that Ahirs, particularly Yadavs, account for almost 10% of the state’s electorate, the BJP has once again decided to use Rao Inderjit Singh, the current Ahir MP, as its nominee for the Lok Sabha. Rao has served as the Gurugram constituency’s MP for the last fifteen years.

Rao, a seasoned lawmaker and six-time MP, is seen as a viable contender. He has only lost once out of the ten elections that he has run in. Sudha Yadav, the wife of a Kargil martyr, beat him while he was a member of the Congress.

Riding high on the inauguration of several infrastructure projects, 74-year-old Rao secured a ticket for the third time, despite his disagreements with previous chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and rumors that the BJP was searching for an alternative. He has benefited from his pristine reputation and family history in state politics.

The introduction of AIIMS-Rewari, the extension of Metro, and the opening of the Dwarka Expressway have shown his impact and elevated his profile. For these initiatives, he was able to get PM Modi twice in a month.

Rao is also responsible for the establishment of the Gurugram-Jaipur Expressway, the GMDA, and the completion of unfinished projects like stadiums and community centers.

Despite his numerous advantages, his inaccessibility will be his biggest obstacle. Although he is well-liked in his native Rewari, he is criticized for ignoring the problems that the people of Nuh and metropolitan Gurugram face on a daily basis.

Rao is anticipated to benefit from the absence of a formidable opponent from either the AAP or the Congress.
