Crunchy details: Using lip service to attract attention

The great old party contacted a BC leader with an alluring offer of a luxurious nominated job in return for support in its drive for power while it was in the opposition, as part of its attempt to garner votes from members of the backward castes. But to the Congress’s dismay, this BC leader openly requested an MLA ticket. The discussions then came to an end. As time passed, the roles reversed!

The Congress came out on top, which put the head of BC in a somewhat embarrassing situation. Abruptly, he found himself pounding on the identical doors he had turned down before, desperate to get the promised nomination. However, the Congress was not inclined to consider his reconsideration. The doors were securely closed, and the once-proud BC leader found himself alone outdoors with no one to listen to his entreaties. Only one knock on your doors will be from luck.

Getting noticed by giving a lip service

Many veteran BJP officials and employees are dissatisfied with the possibilities provided to defectors and outsiders who do not share the party’s beliefs. They have decided not to back these recent arrivals who, at most, only espouse Hindutva. However, a few of those applicants are nothing if not resourceful. To the surprise of even the party officials, one such contender has drawn the attention of the BJP’s national leadership.
