Dharamvir Gandhi, a former Punjabi AAP MP, joins the Congress

In the presence of top party officials, Dharamvir Gandhi, a former AAP member from Patiala, Punjab, joined the Congress on Monday. His appointment before the Lok Sabha elections.

Gandhi is probably going to run for the Congress seat in Patiala.

In 2014, Dharamvir Gandhi, an AAP candidate, defeated Patiala native Preneet Kaur to win the Lok Sabha seat.

The doctor-turned-politician Gandhi left the AAP in 2016 to start his own party, the Nawan Punjab Party, which he combined with the Congress on Monday.

Gandhi was welcomed into the party by party leaders Pawan Khera, AICC in-charge of Punjab, Devendra Yadav, Punjab Congress head Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, and CLP leader Pratap Singh Bajwa.

Warring said that such specialists joining the party is a positive indication, while Bajwa claimed his arrival would strengthen the Congress.

Gandhi was welcomed into the party by party officials Pawan Khera, AICC member for Punjab, Devendra Yadav, and others.
