Drone found close to border; man arrested on narcotics charges
Security officials detained a guy in the Amritsar Sector along with a package of drugs, while in the Tarn Taran Sector, they recovered a drone manufactured in China, in two different events that occurred near the International Border.
The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police conducted a combined operation in the Ramdas region of Ajnala near Amritsar on Tuesday evening, based on information from the BSF.
Two suspects were inside a white Innova that the crew stopped as it approached from the Ajnala side. One of them was apprehended, while the other managed to escape. Upon searching the car, a package containing around 500 grams of heroin was found. It was wrapped in brown adhesive tape.
BSF soldiers traced a drone’s journey to its planned landing zone after intercepting it early on February 28 in the Tarn Taran district border region. The drone was found in the fields next to Kalas Havelian village after a cooperative search.
