Every district will get one lakh objections from OBC netas: Bhujbal Chhagan

NASHIK: According to cabinet member Chhagan Bhujbal, leaders of the OBC community want to submit at least one lakh complaints from each district to the state government’s draft notice on the Maratha reservation.

Leading a nonviolent protest against any attempt by the state administration to provide the Maratha community reservations under the OBC quota is Bhujbal.
“OBC workers have started reaching out to the people, both in urban and rural areas, after state government came out with the draft notification in the last week of January,” Bhujbal said to TOI.
He continued by saying that the state government would be alerted to the “disastrous” effect of the draft notice on OBC reservations as a result of the protests from the OBC community.
“I am convinced that the lakhs of objections that state government will receive will compel it to take note of the resentment prevailing within the OBC community and take corrective measures,” he said.
He claims that the outreach to the OBC population will also aid in raising community awareness of the problem, particularly among those living in rural regions.
On November 16, 2023, Bhujbal submitted his resignation due to the Maratha quota issue. He claimed that since he announced his resignation at the OBC rally in Ahmednagar on February 3, neither Chief Minister Eknath Shinde nor the two deputy Chief Ministers, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, had spoken to him. Shinde still hasn’t accepted his departure.
Bhujbal reiterated his support for the Marathas receiving reservation inside the OBC quota and threatened to keep criticizing the state administration if they do.
