Farmers’ Demonstration: Cars Crawl on NH-48’s DND Flyover; Alternative Routes Advised | Details

As security and checks were stepped up near borders with Delhi on Tuesday due to the farmers’ massive march to the nation’s capital, traffic in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida was disrupted.

Massive traffic jams were seen on the roads linking Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad via the borders of Ghazipur and Chilla. As a result, Noida police gave information on route diversions.

Large numbers of police officers are stationed at the Chilla Border, where Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Vidyasagar Mishra and Additional DCP Manish Mishra were on the ground, according to PTI.

Traffic delays were recorded on the DND flyover, NH-48, and Greater Noida Expressway, according to information from the Noida traffic police. Interestingly, this flyover links Delhi and Noida as well.

The Greater Noida Expressway into Delhi is no longer open to cars transporting cargo. Traffic congestion were also seen along the borders of Anand Vihar, Kaushambi, and Ghaziabad.

NOIDA TRAFFIC: OTHER TRAils
Travelers using the Chilla Border to get to Delhi may use the 14A flyover to get to Sector 15 in Golchakkar Chowk.

After there, cars may go to Jhundpura Chowk and Sandip Paper Mill Chowk before continuing on to their final destination.

It is recommended that those traveling to Delhi via the DND Border use the Filmcity flyover to get to Sector 18.

It is recommended that vehicles traveling to Delhi via the Yamuna highway turn towards Khurja from the Jewar toll and then continue via Jahangirpur.

It is recommended that commuters who are going to Delhi across the Kalindi Border utilize the Mahamaya Flyover to sector 37 and continue from there.

Instead of using the Peripheral Expressway to Sirsa, Punjab, cars heading to Delhi may use the road via Dadri, Dasna.

When traffic is diverted, emergency vehicles will be permitted to go to safe locations.

HELPLINE NUMBER ISSUES BY NOIDA POLICE
A hotline number for commuters has also been released by the Noida traffic police in light of the major farmers’ protest. “You may call the traffic helpdesk at 9971009001 if there is any traffic-related problem. To prevent disruption, kindly choose other routes, the police urged.

THE FARMERS’ PROTEST
After an unsuccessful meeting with two Union ministers about their demands, protesting farmers are seeking a law on minimum support price and are marching toward Delhi.

Farmers will go to Delhi, according to the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), to put pressure on the Center to grant their requests.

For security considerations, the historic Red Fort complex is now temporarily restricted to tourists, a top ASI official said on Tuesday.
