For PM Modi, German singer Cassandra Mae sings a hymn honoring Lord Krishna

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the guest of honor on Tuesday when 21-year-old German singer-songwriter Cassandra Mae Spittmann, who is well-known for her emotional interpretations of Indian devotional music, sang a well-known bhajan for him.

Mae, who was previously named and praised by Prime Minister Modi in the 105th edition of his “Mann Ki Baat” show, paid the Prime Minister a visit at Palladam, a town in the Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu, along with her mother.

Her voice was lovely as she sang “Achyutam Keshavam.” After listening to the sight-challenged vocalist with rapt attention, PM Modi also listened to the rhythms on the table and applauded her when she completed her performance.

In January of this year, Mae, a multilingual singer who sings in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Sanskrit, and Kannada, sang the “Ram Aayenge” bhajan before to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha event at Ayodhya.

PM Modi posted Cassandra Mae Spittmann’s bhajan on X and stated, “This rendition by Cassandra Mae Spittmann from Germany, whom I once referred to during #MannKiBaat, will make you very happy.”

The Prime Minister had introduced Mae at Mann Ki Baat, stating that her work would inspire all Indians and that “Indian culture and Indian music are now global and more and more people worldwide are getting attracted to them.”

He then sang two of Mae’s songs: a Kannada song and “Jagat Jaana Palam,” which is a hymn to Lord Vishnu.

Mae was first exposed to Indian music around five years ago, and she began studying African drumming at the age of three.

During his two-day tour to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, Prime Minister Modi is launching and laying the groundwork for a number of development projects.
