Former forest minister and forest officer raped by SC

The Supreme Court chastised former Uttarakhand minister Harak Singh Rawat and a former divisional forest officer on Wednesday for permitting illegitimate building and tree-cutting in the Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR), stating that the “public trust doctrine” has been tossed in the trash.

“We do not plan to speak more on the topic since it is currently under investigation by the CBI. We’ve also noticed that two people are insufficient to do this. “There must have been a lot of other people involved,” the bench, which also included Justices P K Mishra and Sandeep Mehta, said.

The top court gave the CBI, which is now looking into the issue, instructions to provide a status report on it in three months.
