Government of Tamil Nadu Approves Six Mini Textile Parks

Six small textile parks have been authorized by the Tamil Nadu government so far, and eight more are under clearance.

According to M. Vallalar, the Tamil Nadu government’s textile commissioner, the program has received at least 100 expressions of interest. The plan, which had been dormant since 2015, has been revived by us. It will now begin to pick up steam,” he said.

The plan provides a 50% subsidy, or Rs 2.5 crores, towards the development of shared amenities inside a micro textile park. The park may be built on no less than two acres and three units. The parties involved have to designate land, establish a special purpose organization, and provide a thorough project report.

About 20 DPRs have been received for the plan across the State. Eight projects originate from Madurai and its surroundings. The textile business in Coimbatore has been impacted by the recession, thus the reaction is progressively improving,” he added.

On Wednesday, October 26, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati met with leaders from the business to go over the specifics of the plan.

Participants at the conference, officials, said that the scheme’s previous mandate was for ten acres and ten industries.

This has now been decreased. The plan will help those involved in post-spinning processes like weaving, clothing, or finishing since textile spinning mills will need additional space. The MSME Department may provide capital subsidies to the units if the park is established in underprivileged areas of the district. They also said that several of the Annur area’s weaving operations had shown interest.
