Gujarati development projects valued at more than Rs 48,000 crore will be inaugurated by PM Modi today

On February 22 and 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, where he will launch and lay the groundwork for many development projects valued at over Rs 61,000 crore.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Wednesday, Modi will launch and inaugurate projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore for transforming Varanasi and its surrounding areas, in addition to laying the foundation stone and starting work on multiple development projects worth over Rs 48,000 crore in Gujarat.

Modi will take part in the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation’s (GCMMF) golden jubilee celebration on Thursday, February 22, at around 10.45 a.m. in Ahmedabad.

The prime minister is scheduled to arrive at Mahesana at about 12:45 pm and will have ‘pooja’ and ‘darshan’ at the Valinath Mahadev Temple. He will attend a public event at Tarabh, Mahesana, at around 1 pm, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for many development projects valued at over Rs 8,350 crore.

The prime minister is scheduled to arrive in Navsari at about 4:15 pm, where he will preside over the groundbreaking and begin work on several development projects valued at over Rs 17,500 crore. Modi is scheduled to visit the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station at around 6:15 pm, during which he will dedicate two new Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) to the country.

At Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi’s Swatantra Sabhagar, Modi will take part in a function on Friday, February 23, when prizes for the Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita winners will be distributed.

The prime minister will offer ‘pooja’ and ‘darshan’ at Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali at 11.15 a.m. The prime minister will be present at a public event marking Sant Guru Ravidas’ 647th birthday at 11.30 am.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend a public gathering in Varanasi in the afternoon, when he would lay the foundation stone for many development projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crore.

The prime minister will dedicate to the nation and lay the cornerstone of several development projects at the two public functions in Gujarat’s Mahesana and Navsari. These projects will cover, among other important sectors, road, rail, energy, health, Internet connectivity, urban development, water supply, and tourism in districts like Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Anand, Mahesana, Kachchh, Kheda, Bharuch, Tapi, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari, Panchmahal, Valsad, and Narmada.

The prime minister will dedicate significant national projects at a public event in Tarabh, Mahesana. These projects include the Bharat Net Phase-II – Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited, which will offer high-speed Internet to over 8,000 gram panchayats; numerous rail line doubling projects; gauge conversion projects; new broad-gauge line in the districts of Mahesana and Banaskantha; and numerous road projects.

According to the PMO statement, Modi has been concentrating on modernizing Varanasi and its surrounding regions since 2014. He has done this by starting a variety of development projects that serve vital industries like road, rail, aviation, tourism, education, health, drinking water, urban development, and sanitation.

The prime minister will launch and lay the foundation stone for many development projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crore in Varanasi, marking another milestone in this direction.

Modi will launch and lay the foundation stone for several road projects, including the four-laning of the Sultanpur-Varanasi part of National Highway 56 and the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi stretch of National Highway 233, in order to further improve Varanasi’s road connections.

The prime minister will also open an HPCL LPG bottling plant in Sewapuri, the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit at UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, various infrastructure projects at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhiyaon, and a silk fabric printing common facility center for weavers in order to stimulate industrial development in the area.

Modi will lay the cornerstone of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi, boosting the city’s renowned textile industry. According to the announcement, the new institution would improve the textile industry’s infrastructure for training and education.

The prime minister is going to lay the foundation stone for a new medical college in Varanasi, improving the city’s medical infrastructure. Additionally, he will lay the cornerstone for Banaras Hindu University’s National Center of Ageing.

In an effort to improve the city’s sporting facilities, the prime minister will also officially open the District Rifle Shooting Range and Sigra Sports Stadium Phase 1.

In the adjacent Ravidas Park, the prime minister will dedicate a recently erected statue of Sant Ravidas at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali shrine in Seer Govardhanpur, close to Banaras Hindu University.

He will lay the cornerstone for the Sant Ravidas Museum and park beautification, which will cost around Rs 62 crore, as well as launch many development projects surrounding Sant Ravidas Janmasthali, estimated to be worth about Rs 32 crore.
