“Husband Earns 9 Lakhs”: Bengaluru CEO Required To Pay 2.5 Lakhs For Upkeep

New Delhi: In August, Domestic Violence charges were brought against Suchana Seth, a Bengaluru lady who is suspected of killing her four-year-old kid after a violent divorce from her husband, PR Venkat Raman. A restraining order was then granted against her. She had demanded ₹ 2.5 lakh in alimony each month, alleging he earns over ₹ 1 crore annually, and accused him of physically assaulting both her and the kid.

According to court papers obtained by NDTV, Ms. Seth provided screenshots and medical records along with copies of her WhatsApp communications to support her allegations of domestic violence.

Mr. Raman, who was in Indonesia at the time of the purported murder, had refuted the accusations of spousal abuse. However, he was not allowed to visit his wife’s house or speak with her or the kid over the phone or on social media as per the provisions of the restraining order.

He was instructed to pay ₹ 20,000 per month for “interim maintenance” starting in September.

However, it was also stated that the father was granted weekly visiting privileges, which included every Sunday, which infuriated Ms. Seth, 39. According to police speculation, she may have murdered her kid in response to this court order.

The last hearing for the domestic abuse case took place on December 12, which was more than three weeks before Ms. Seth and her son moved into a service flat in Candolim, north Goa, where she executed what the police now believe was a “premeditated” murder after empty cough syrup bottles were found.

The case was then postponed until January 29 by the court.

November 2010 saw the marriage of Ms. Seth and Mr. Raman, and August 2019 saw the birth of their son. According to reports, Ms. Seth informed the judge that she and her husband have not lived together since March 2021.

How Seth Suchana Was Captured
On Tuesday, Ms. Seth was seen escaping as her son’s corpse was concealed inside a brown bag.

She was taken into custody in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This came about when cleaning personnel at the Goa service apartment discovered a bloodstained towel and called the police. The police quietly pointed the driver of the cab that Ms. Seth was driving to the closest police station after getting in touch with him.

She claimed to have discovered the boy dead after taking a sleep and told the authorities she had no clue how he had died.

Since Ms. Seth has been in the custody of Goa Police for six days, and there are empty bottles of cough syrup in her room along with a bloodstained towel that she claimed to be menstrual bleeding, they are not persuaded by her explanations so far. The police think she may have overdosed the boy on medication, causing him to get sleepy, and then suffocated him with a pillow or bed sheet.

The kid could have been suffocated, according to the post-mortem report.

Suchana Seth has been charged with murder; it is possible that she attempted suicide after murdering her son, as shown by the sliced wrist.
