Images of the New Ayodhya Airport, Sustainability Features, and Ramayana Murals

New Delhi: Like many other structures in the city, the recently constructed airport in Ayodhya is centered on themes from the life of Lord Ram. The city is preparing for a significant event that will take place next month. Tomorrow is the Maharshi Valmiki Antarraashtriya Hawai Adda Ayodhyadham’s official opening by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Several areas of the airport are decorated with vibrant murals that illustrate various periods of the epic Ramayana and the life of Lord Ram, as shown in images taken within the airport. The architecture of the future Ram Mandir is depicted on the terminal building’s front.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the cutting-edge structure also has a number of sustainability features to meet GRIHA – 5 star ratings, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountain-filled landscaping, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s major opening, strings of orange and yellow marigold flowers were used to adorn the airport facility.

Enormous posters featuring the planned Ram temple, the new airport’s layout, and a statement praising Ayodhya as a city of “Maryada, Dharm, and Sanskriti” have been erected across the temple town, including in close proximity to the airport, station, and bypass route.

Giant posters of the prime ministers have been put up along the major route leading to the airport. Along this road, there are also decorative light posts.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that Prime Minister Modi will be visiting Ayodhya on December 30.

According to the statement, he will first dedicate many other railway projects to the country and open the renovated Ayodhya railway station. He will also launch the new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains.

The PMO said that the Prime Minister would thereafter open the Ayodhya airport.

Later on, according to the release, he would take part in a public event where he will inaugurate, pay tribute to the country, and lay the cornerstone for many development projects totaling more than ₹ 15,700 crore in the state.

Tomorrow will be the first flight operated by IndiGo from Delhi to Ayodhya, with commercial services starting on January 6.

Yesterday, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, released a teaser video for the airport’s opening on X.

“Just as the construction work of Ram temple in Ayodhya is at its peak, similarly the construction of Ayodhya airport is also in its final stages to welcome the devotees, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on 30 December 2023,” added the statement.

The arrival of PM Modi coincides with the ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration) of the Ayodhya Ram temple, which is now under construction.
