In advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SBSP Chief OP Rajbhar joins the NDA

The leader of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), OP Rajbhar, has joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

On social media, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced Rajbhar’s re-entry into the NDA.

“The arrival of Rajbhar ji will strengthen the NDA in Uttar Pradesh,” said Shah.

“We resolved to campaign jointly in the 2024 elections after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 14. I want to thank the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing us along, said OP Rajbhar.

Prior to this, the SBSP ran with the BJP in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

Until his dismissal for “anti-alliance activities” in 2019, Rajbhar was also a minister in Yogi Adityanath’s government.

The SBSP then ran in tandem with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party in the 2022 Assembly election. Rajbhar broke up his partnership with SP last year.

In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has started a large outreach drive to bolster the NDA against the opposition.

Prior to the elections, there were rumors that the BJP was in contact with Rajbhar to help the NDA.
