In Koderma, Jharkhand, 50 Children And Women Get Sick From Eating Gol Gappa

A health official said on Saturday that 50 children and women may have contracted food poisoning after eating ‘gol gappa’ from a roadside seller in Koderma, Jharkhand. According to Additional Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) Koderma, around 40 children and 10 women became sick after eating “gol gappa” from a street seller in Gosain Tola, Lokai Panchayat, on Friday night.

According to the official, the children and women who consumed “gol gappa” had difficulties including vomiting and diarrhea and were later diagnosed with bacterial infections. They were then transferred to Sadar Hospital in Koderma, where they are being monitored for 24 hours.

He said that the remaining food products of the vendor have been seized and samples have been sent to Ranchi for testing. The youngsters, who range in age from 9 to 15, are in stable condition.
