In Tennessee, a 55-year-old man murders himself, his wife, and their kid after setting his house on fire

A 55-year-old man in Karaikudi early on Saturday is suspected of having set fire to both his wife and his own home because he felt his family did not care for him. Later that day, their son, who had tried to rescue the couple from the fire, also died from burns. The names of the dead were T Naveen Kumar (32) and his son A Thangaraj, Latha (48).

Police sources claim that Thangaraj was angry with his family because he thought they had been neglecting him for too long. An altercation broke out between the pair on Friday. Before lighting himself on fire, Thangaraj is said to have set his wife and the home on fire in the early hours of Saturday.

Naveen awoke around two in the morning to his parents’ cries. When he realized the home was on fire, he sent his one-year-old kid and his wife Selvi outside before going back to rescue his parents. But in the process, he suffered burn injuries that were about 80%.

The police, fire department, and rescue services were notified by Selvi and her neighbors. Rescuers discovered Thangaraj and Latha’s dead after putting out the fire, and they immediately took Naveen to the Government Medical College Hospital in Sivaganga.
