Karnal farmers are irritated by data discrepancies on official websites

Farmers are encountering difficulties while attempting to sell their wheat and mustard harvests at grain markets as a result of data discrepancies between the e-kharid portal and the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” (MFMB) portal. Furthermore, there is a discrepancy between the MFMB statistics and the farmers’ real output. Farmers from neighboring districts who have grown crops in the Karnal district are also dealing with some problems.

Farmers claim that, as required by the government, they dutifully entered their personal information and agricultural data on the MFMB site. They finished the registration procedure last month, but the yield is not correctly showing on the site, thus they are having problems currently. This is creating delays since gate passes, which are required to sell the goods, are not being provided.

Farmers with these kinds of problems are approaching officials, such as the District Revenue Officer, Deputy Commissioner, and Deputy Director Agriculture (DDA), on a regular basis, pleading with them to settle their complaints.

59,540 farmers registered an area of 4,27,722 acres in the district, according to data from the MFMB site. On 30,057 acres, however, there were disagreements that were addressed. Aside from that, 37,846 acres were requested for special verification; of them, 37,245 acres have already been validated, and 601 acres are now awaiting verification.

Farmers are drawing attention to a number of other problems, such as their failure to correctly upload their yield statistics on the site and their details even after providing their Aadhar IDs and other data.

“I have registered all of my information, including my crop, but the data is now inconsistent, thus a gate permit cannot be granted as a result. Farmer Amrik Singh stated, “I went to the Deputy Commissioner’s office to have things fixed.

Another farmer in the Nissing region, Anil Kumar, said, “I am unable to sell my produce because the information uploaded on the MFMB portal is not shown at the e-kharid portal completely.”

“We address any concerns as soon as they are brought to our attention,” Deputy Director of Agriculture (DDA) Dr. Wazir Singh said.

According to Sanjeev Sachdeva, secretary of the Karnal Market Committee, a few problems that were present at the grain market have been fixed.

According to Manish Yadav, DRO, Sadar Kanungo of the district was in charge of the support desk that was set up at the office. He said that farmers’ concerns were being given top attention.
