Karnataka Congress Government Could Disband After May 2024: Former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy

HD Kumaraswamy, a former chief minister and state president of the JD(S), predicted on Monday that the Karnataka government, which is run by the Congress, would collapse shortly after the general elections later in the year. According to the JD(S) leader, the present legislative assembly will not be able to serve out its full five-year term, and the JD(S) will take over the state legislature shortly.

“I will never stop speaking for the people. Do not assume that there has been no work done. Give us a period of six months. It is my duty to support the local MLAs and see that the task is completed. While addressing a religious function in Belathur village of Mandya district, Kumaraswamy stated, as reported by news agency IANS, “Do not get outraged at our MLA.”

He declared his readiness to take command of the situation and held the Congress administration accountable for the region’s stagnation. The JD(S) MLA for the K.R. Pet seat, HT Manju, endorsed Kumaraswamy’s goals and said that the region could only flourish under his direction.

Kumaraswamy has been talking about the collapse of the Congress administration a lot. The previous chief minister said that a minister had alluded to the state’s potential for political unrest like to that in Maharashtra.

Following the assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh in 2023, the Congress remains in power only in three states: Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh. This is when Kumaraswamy’s allegation is made. Although the NDA alliance is in power in a number of northern Indian states, they do not yet have a chief minister in a southern state.
