Karnataka: KS Eshwarappa claims to get Shah’s blessings but returns without seeing him

Former deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa, who is running as a rebel from Shivamogga, said that despite being called by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he was unable to meet with the latter in New Delhi.

The son of party stalwart BS Yediyurappa, BY Raghavendra, is the BJP candidate that Eshwarappa would be up against in the next Lok Sabha elections.

After arriving back in Shivamogga from Delhi, Eshwarappa told to reporters, “There is no question of withdrawing from the contest.” I received a call from Shah’s office after arriving in Delhi, informing me that the appointment was postponed. This indicates that Shah wants me to challenge Raghavendra and win.

“I explained to Amit Shah why I was running for office when we spoke before. I informed him that the party needed to be cleaned up and released from BS Yediyurappa and his family’s control. I raised several issues, but Amit Shah had nothing to say in response. Thus, I believe he requested that I go back to Shivamogga,” Eshwarappa said.

Eshwarappa said that he will defeat Shivamogga and work to reinstate Narendra Modi as prime minister. For the first time, Eshwarappa claimed to have defied the RSS’s directives and demanded an apology.
