karnataka When things are bad, Raitha Samruddhi Yojane gives people hope

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a novel Karnataka Raitha Samruddhi Yojane, giving farmers who have been battered by consecutive drought and floods new hope as the demand for scientific prices for farm produce grows louder and greater. The goal of this initiative is to make the agriculture sector lucrative with an integrated system.

Aiming to make agriculture profitable and sustainable, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah allotted Rs 6,688 crore, or 2% of the whole budget, to the agricultural and horticultural sectors. He said that, with assistance and direction from the agricultural community, integrated agriculture will be promoted as of the current fiscal year.

Together with promoting knowledge of new agricultural techniques and technology as well as market connections, comprehensive agriculture encompasses dairy farming, horticulture, animal husbandry, and agriculture. It also includes crop selection based on soil properties and market needs.

Siddaramaiah announced the establishment of an Agriculture Development Authority to enable the efficient execution of programs, notwithstanding the budget’s silence on loan waivers.

In an effort to reduce agricultural product waste, the chief minister announced the creation of the Food Processing Directorate, which would oversee all food processing initiatives. Under the Public-Private Partnership, food parks are to be established close to airports in Sogane in Shivamogga, Ittangihala in Vijayapura district, and Pujenahalli in Bengaluru Rural district.

Along with distributing awards of Rs 200 crore, he announced the return of the Krishi Bhagya Yojane, which had gained immense popularity under the previous Congress term. To save locally grown seeds that are in danger of becoming extinct, community seed banks are being created, and millets will be heavily marketed.
