Kerala lady marries two weeks after her father was slain during the wedding

A lady who had a guy who wanted to marry her kill her father on the day of the wedding, according to persons with knowledge of the situation, was married on Friday at the Varkala Sivagiri temple in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala.

In a small ceremony at the temple, Sreelakshmi wed her fiancé Vinu in the presence of her close friends and family.

A four-person gang consisting of Jishnu, his brother Jijin, and his friends Manu and Shyam bludgeoned to death Raju (61), the father of Sreelakshmi, around 12.30 in the morning on June 28.

Jishnu had contacted Sreelakshmi’s family to express his intention to marry her weeks before Vinu and Sreelakshmi’s wedding date was set.

But considering his criminal history, Sreelakshmi and her family refused it.

Jishnu allegedly threatened to forbid her from getting married to anybody else at the moment.

The Varkala police detained all four of them, who are now being held on remand, shortly after the event.

The wedding was postponed until July 14 because of Raju’s death. The charge sheet has not yet been filed by the police.
