Key BJP meeting in Hyderabad is presided over by Nadda

On Sunday, the BJP was holding a significant national gathering in Hyderabad to tackle organisational issues as several states prepare to hold Assembly elections.

The conference, which was attended by state presidents from 11 states, was presided over by BJP national president J. P. Nadda.

Party in-charges and organisational secretaries from 11 states were also present at the conference.

Participants at the conference included the recently elected state presidents of the BJP in the Telugu states.

Other top officials, including Paryty General Secretary B. L. Santhosh, National Vice President D. K. Aruna, and others, were present at the crucial meeting.

J. P. Nadda was welcomed at Begumpet Airport earlier by G. Kishan Reddy, the union minister for tourism and culture who was chosen last week as the BJP president for Telangana. Other leaders were MLA Eatala Rajender, MP K. Laxman, and former state BJP president Bandi Sanjay.

The meeting also included former Union minister D. Purandeswari, who only last week was named head of the BJP’s Andhra Pradesh branch.

In light of the upcoming Assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections the next year, Nadda is expected to offer instructions to the party leaders of 11 states. According to reports, the gathering is examining the adjustments that need to be made to the organisation before the election.

Hyderabad is said to be the BJP’s effort to dispel the increasing perception that the party is softening its stance towards Telangana’s governing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The saffron party also wants to convey the message that only it is capable of deposing the KCR-led party.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, visited Telangana the day before the conference on Sunday. He had launched a scathing assault on the KCR administration during a public speech in Warangal over family domination and widespread corruption.

Following the national executive meeting in July of last year, this is the BJP’s second significant national-level gathering in Hyderabad.

The gathering is anticipated to significantly strengthen the party cadre in Telangana. Following the party’s loss in the most recent Karnataka Assembly elections, its morale suffered.
