Mamata requests that all creators of works of art make sure that an offender receives just punishment

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday praised Bengali TV serial and web series creators for the sheer breadth of their creativity, saying that when it comes to thrillers, they must keep in mind that viewers may attempt to replicate a crime depicted in the work of art and should therefore inform them of the repercussions faced by the offenders.

When presenting the Tele Academy Awards to the producers, performers, and directors, Banerjee said that whenever criminal offenses are shown in a fictitious work, those moments must be followed by another in which the offenders get just punishment.

There is a predisposition to mimic terrible things, hence some individuals could strive to do crimes that are depicted in a literary work. I humbly ask the creators to include the penalty meted out to violators in their work. CM: “That will serve as a deterrence.

She praised Bengali serial producers for their “rich and varied fare,” saying that “you (producers and directors) have projected various contemporary social issues in your works.”

“You accurately mimic a tribal woman’s speech while telling the tale of the proprietor and guests of a wayside motel, among other things. Every battle a commoner faces is shown in your art, Banerjee stated.

“Our performers (the Bengali actors) are among the finest. They get admiration and acclaim worldwide. They are requested to the Mumbai entertainment sector, the speaker said.

She continued by praising the TV business, saying, “Our imaginative programming has captured the hearts of everyone in the globe. With the combination of technical talent and expertise in dancing and painting, they are impossible to put down.

In addition, Banerjee lavishly praised the “over two lakh popular folk artistes in the state who continuously keep enriching our language and culture in their works.”

She said that the small screen and online series industry had performed well throughout the epidemic in 2020–21.
