MC Fatehgarh approves projects worth Rs 3.91 crore

The Sirhind-Fatehgarh Sahib Municipal Council accepted 19 proposals for development works totaling Rs 3.91 crore at a meeting today. Ashok Sood, the council president, chaired the meeting, and Lakhbir Singh Rai, the MLA for Fatehgarh Sahib, was also in attendance.

The MLA and the council president announced to the media that development projects authorized had an estimated cost of Rs 3.91 crore. According to their announcement, two new community centers will be built: one at Ward 22 for Rs 91.57 lakhs and another at Ward 23 for Rs 22.89 lakhs. In addition, they claimed that renovations of a solid waste dump next to the MDF shed, parks in Bahadurgarh, and the MC Land boundary wall had all been authorized for a total of Rs 24.64 lakh and Rs 41.34 lakh, respectively. The council members also gave their approval to a six-month extension of the fire department’s contract.

According to MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai, funding has also been secured for new water tanks that would ensure the city’s consistent water supply. He said that Prajapat Viradari will have a community center built at Brahman Majra and that a Rs 13 lakh budget had been approved for the sterilization of stray canines. He stated that the refurbishment of the Humayunpur night shelter has been sanctioned for Rs 12 lakh.

During the discussion, the MLA gave the council member instructions to make sure the city’s current development projects are finished on schedule.
