Meeting of Oppn Parties on June 23 was intended to promote unity, but instead ended in accusations, claims Scindia; mocks Lalu’s advice to Rahul over marriage

Several opposition groups met on June 23 in Patna under the pretence of unity, but the conference concluded with one party criticising the others, according to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Prime Minister Narendra Mod, was resolved to lead India on the road of growth while speaking to media at the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore.

He continued that the opposing parties, however, were solely interested in safeguarding their own future. All the opposition groups had come to this gathering to teach each other a lesson of togetherness, but they began criticising one other, Scindia said, asserting that the June 23 meeting in Bihar highlighted a significant breach between the “commoners” and the “special.”

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Scindia predicted that Modi’s leadership will “create new history” with the backing of the electorate. Lalu Yadav, a former chief minister of Bihar and RJD leader, reportedly advised Congressman Rahul Gandhi to get married as soon as possible. Scindia claimed the meeting on June 23 was likely scheduled just to offer Gandhi this advice.

Scindia referred to Prime Minister Modi’s trips to the US and Egypt as historic and said that they conveyed the ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ message in fields such as trade, civil aviation, military, and yoga.
