NLU Delhi Requests AILET 2024 Registration and Introduces PhD Degree

Applications for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2024 are currently being accepted by the National Law University (NLU) in Delhi for admission to its BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programs for the academic year 2024–2025. Additionally, NLU Delhi altered the test format for the LLM and PhD programs (2024) this year and introduced PhDs in social sciences (2024) for the first time. The Rs 3500 application fee must be paid before registering at the nationallawuniversitydelhi.in website. For SC/ST and persons with disabilities (PwD), the application fee is Rs. 1,500.

FOR AILET 2024, IMPORTANT DATES

Applications for AILET 2024 must be submitted by November 13, 2023.

On November 20, the admission cards for the test will be made accessible.

According to the official schedule, the AILET 2024 will be place on December 10 between 11 am and 1 pm.

According to the official notice, the AILET 2024 examination will be conducted in the following cities: Bengaluru, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Shimla, Siliguri, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam.

The main modification is that AILET will now last two hours (120 minutes) for batch 2024 of all programs, including BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD, as opposed to the previous 1.5 hours. Furthermore, only multiple-choice questions (MCQ) would be included in the admission tests. 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth one mark each will be included in the test. The topics for all 100 MCQs will be selected from different areas of law.

A PhD program in political science, sociology, criminology, economics, and English has been established by NLU Delhi for the year 2024. Candidates must hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in relevant social sciences or humanities with 55% marks in order to be eligible to apply for the new PhD program. For applicants from the SC/ST/OBCs non-creamy layer/Difficulty Able/Economically Weaker Section, the cutoff is 50%.

According to reports, the PhD admission test would be an MCQ format with 100 questions worth one mark each. There will be 50 multiple-choice questions on research methods. The last 50 MCQs for the PhD in Law will cover a range of legal topics. The remaining 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for the PhD in Social Sciences will be drawn from diverse social scientific disciplines.
