Northeast Delhi restaurant owner shot and killed

In the New Usmanpur neighbourhood of northeast Delhi, a 32-year-old restaurant owner was shot and killed by attackers, police said on Wednesday.

On the nights of Tuesday and Wednesday in between, Sanjay Singh, who was wanted in a murder case, was assaulted outside his home as he was leaving the restaurant.

According to a police official, one of Singh’s acquaintances saw him lying wounded on the road and notified the victim’s younger brother, Nitin, who owns a dairy.

Singh was discovered dead in a pool of blood next to the Hanuman Mandir Wali Gali service road by Nitin, who had hurried to the scene, the officer added.

Singh was hurt in the elbow, right shoulder, abdomen, and head. Police said that after being taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, medical professionals pronounced him dead.

Seven empty bullet casings, four lead fragments, and one live round were discovered there, according to the police.

According to a different officer, Singh was arrested in relation to the death of a guy named Ravinder. Both of them resided in the same area.

“Assemblies are working to identify Singh’s killers. The officer said that all possible aspects of the case are being examined while scanning the footage from CCTV cameras that have been put in the neighbourhood.
