Northeast’s first-ever defense technology exhibition will be held in Guwahati
The biggest city in Assam, Guwahati, is preparing to hold a defense technology expo in October that will include the newest weaponry, vehicles, and other equipment for the first time in the Northeast.
According to Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah, a meeting between the state administration and senior Army officers was conducted here on Friday to evaluate the preparations.
“Held a meeting along with GoC-in-C, Eastern Command Lt. Commander R Kalita to review the proposed defense expo Defence East Tech 2023 scheduled to be held for the first time in the North East the 10th & 11th of October 2023 at Maniram Dewan Trade Center, Guwahati,” Borah wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to him, this will be the first defense technology display to ever include cutting-edge assault guns, vehicles, and technological advancements, as well as military drones.
More than 200 domestic firms, start-ups, and MSMEs will attend the event.
This initiative intends to develop and enhance India’s domestic businesses, notably in important areas like defense, and is in line with the Hon’ble PM Adarniya Shri @narendramodi Ji’s #AatmaNirbhar Campaign, according to Borah.
According to the minister, the expo is also anticipated to have a cascading impact by advancing the industrial growth of the industry in the state and offering a chance to attract investment and generate employment.
